The design is inspired by the ancient city of Artashat. At its center is a stylized fortress, echoing the city’s entrance pillars — a symbol of strength and legacy. Two eagles from the original flag represent power, protection, and national pride. A V-shaped, shield-like composition reflects heritage and tradition. Refined colors, embossed textures, and gold accents add elegance and modernity, helping the brandy stand out while remaining a tribute to its historical Armenian roots.

ABOUT PROJECT

The materials and textures were chosen carefully to enhance the overall aesthetic.

The label and packaging of Artashat Cognac showcase a rich blend of traditional texture and modern print technology. Premium textured paper forms the base, giving the label a tactile, handcrafted feel. Advanced typographic techniques are used throughout, including embossing and debossing to create depth and contrast in key elements like the logo and product name.
Gold foil stamping adds elegance and visual hierarchy, while selective UV varnish highlights specific details, enhancing both light reflection and touch. Together, these choices elevate the product’s premium feel and create a multi-sensory experience that communicates quality before the bottle is even opened.

Motivation

Motivation

The core idea behind the Artashat Cognac design was to create a visual identity that goes beyond elegance—it needed to carry meaning. Artashat, as one of Armenia’s ancient capitals, represents strength, resilience, and cultural depth. The goal was to translate that legacy into a modern, premium product that proudly reflects its roots.Every element—from the fortress-inspired logo to the eagles drawn from the city’s flag—was chosen to tell a story of national pride and heritage. The color system and formal composition express the maturity of each cognac, while the sharp, shield-like label layout communicates confidence and dignity.

PROJECT FOR

The Wine Brandy Factory of Hoktemberian was founded in 1942 in the village of Lenughi. After privatization in 1995, it was renamed MAP CJSC.
